Scaling Nature Based Solutions: Earthly joins Climate Collective
We are so excited to welcome Earthly into the Climate Collective!
Representation of the Earthly team, spread out across Europe, Africa and India.
In 2020, a shared passion for tackling climate change led entrepreneurs Oliver Bolton and Lorenzo Curci to found Earthly. Their mission? To empower businesses to invest in high-quality nature-based solutions.
They’re a team of entrepreneurs, engineers, and scientists with a shared passion for reversing climate breakdown and restoring our planet. Their focus? Identifying and funding the most impactful nature-based projects globally, optimizing benefits for carbon reduction, biodiversity restoration, and improved livelihoods.
Here’s what sets Earthly apart:
🔬 Science-Driven Screening & Monitoring: Their NbS project scoring tool analyzes 106 data points evenly split across carbon, biodiversity, and people, all backed by the guidance of their independent scientific advisory board. They also leverage geospatial data for ongoing project monitoring and are developing a climate risk/resilience module. From the 400 projects they’ve screened over the last 12 months only 8% of projects have met their minimum standards across all quality indicators.
📈 Scaling Nature-Based Solutions: Earthly’s platform is designed to accelerate funding to NbS and their screening tool is agonistic to registry or ecosystems allowing them to build bespoke portfolios of projects for their clients that align with their values, geographies and wider sustainability strategies. Their 650+ clients include heavyweights CaixaBank, Activision Blizzard, S&P Global, and L’Oreal.
🦋 Voluntary Biodiversity Credits: They’re recently launched a new Voluntary Biodiversity Credit product based on the UK’s new compliance scheme. Each credit is linked to a 9 sq/m plot and legally protected for biodiversity net gain over 30 years. The first purchase was from King (Candy Crush) was for 543 credits at ~$35,000
Earthly slots right into the Climate Collective Nature & Biodiversity cohort -> we’re thrilled to support you in your goal to protect and restore >1% of the planet by 2030 (>150 million hectares!).
