About Climate Collective
Driving the responsible development and adoption of technologies for global sustainability goals
Founded in 2021, Climate Collective is an independent nonprofit organisation dedicated to ensuring that technology delivers for both people and the planet. We connect innovators, nonprofits, and funders through programmes, partnerships, and convenings – building the capacity, networks, and evidence needed to turn ideas into lasting impact.
Why we exist
Technology offers a once-in-a-generation chance to change how we tackle the climate and nature crises. But the choices made today will decide whether it accelerates progress – or locks in the very problems we’re trying to solve.
Too often, the people closest to the challenges are left out of shaping solutions. Climate Collective was launched to change that.
By building capacity, backing underrepresented innovators, and bringing sectors together, we ensure climate and nature priorities are embedded in how technology is designed and deployed. Our approach is catalytic, collaborative, and rooted in impact.
At our core is a global community — NGOs, entrepreneurs, technologists, sustainability leaders and funders — working together to test ideas, influence agendas, and turn innovation into solutions that last.
In our first two years, we provided over $4 million in catalytic grants to more than 80 projects across 25 countries. These grants unlocked $185 million in follow-on venture funding and $10 million in philanthropic investment, laying the foundation for today’s accelerators, convenings, and partnerships.
How we work
We connect and support people and organisations using technology to benefit climate and nature.
Our work spans four priorities:
Building capacity: Equipping civic organisations and nonprofits with the skills and confidence to adopt technology responsibly and influence its trajectory.
Backing innovators: Supporting underrepresented entrepreneurs through accelerators, mentoring, and catalytic grants to build technology that matters.
Convening leaders: Bringing together technologists, funders, nonprofits, and policymakers to set shared priorities and embed climate and nature needs in technology from the start.
Catalysing systemic change: Aligning funding flows, market incentives, and technology development to create the conditions for solutions that put people and the planet first.
Our impact
Building capacity, influence, and impact for climate and nature.
